What the warranty covers
Brilliant Epoxy Floors warrants that your installed coating system will remain bonded to the concrete and will not peel or delaminate (including hot tire pickup) due to defective workmanship, improper surface preparation, improper application, or a failure of the product, for the warranty period from the date of installation.
The warranty is non-transferable, is provided only to the original purchaser, and applies only to the coating system installed by Brilliant Epoxy Floors. Proper maintenance following our care recommendations is required for the warranty to remain valid.
METALLIC MOSAIC FLOORS
Your metallic floor will change color over time
Metallic Mosaic floors are made with epoxy, and all epoxy will gradually yellow, or "amber," as it ages. This is a natural property of the material, not a defect, and it happens to every epoxy floor, no matter who installs it.
The main cause is UV light. Areas that get direct sun, like near a garage door, windows, or glass doors, will usually change faster than shaded areas, so the color can shift unevenly across the floor. Environmental factors and everyday wear play a role too.
Lighter and brighter colors, like whites, silvers, and pale grays, show yellowing the most. Darker colors hide it better.
How to slow it down
-
Limit direct sunlight. Keep the garage door closed when you can, and use blinds or shades on sunny windows.
-
Choose your color with this in mind. If you want the least visible change, go with a darker or warmer metallic color.
-
Follow our care guide. Regular cleaning with mild cleaners keeps the finish looking its best.
ⓘ Warranty note: yellowing or ambering from UV light, environmental factors, and wear does not constitute a defect and is not covered by the warranty.
What's not covered
Some conditions are outside of our control or come from how the floor is used.
Concrete & substrate issues
Damage caused by movement of the underlying substrate (concrete, joint material, or other underlayment), such as concrete cracking, movement of concrete, and joints expanding.
Damage, blistering, peeling, or any condition caused by or related to concrete osmotic pressure or silicates extruding from or out of concrete, including osmotic vapor blistering.
Hydrostatic pressure, excessive moisture, or vapor transmission, unless a dedicated moisture mitigation system was purchased and installed as part of your contract.
Near-surface alkali reaction, alkali-silica reaction, or other inherent concrete defects.
Cracks that reappear. Every attempt will be made to patch and correct cracks deeper than 3mm and wider than 2mm, but we don't guarantee they won't come back.
Use & care
-
Normal wear and tear, loss of gloss, and cosmetic changes from use or improper cleaning practices.
-
Chemical attack and improper use, such as chemical spills or battery or brake fluid spills.
-
Severe or abnormal use, including impact or dragging equipment, machinery, or heavy objects.
-
Imprinted marks from driving on the floor earlier than specified. No warranty work will be performed in this case.
-
Amber-colored tire tread marks (plasticizer staining) that some tires leave in the top layer of urethane.
Color & appearance
-
Color, texture, pattern, and shading variation from job to job and across larger areas, due to color batch tinting. Samples are approximate and may vary from the finished floor.
-
Yellowing or ambering of Metallic Mosaic floors over time.
-
Fading of garage coatings that extend outside the closed garage door, due to the intense Arizona sun.
How warranty repairs work
-
On a valid claim, our sole obligation is to repair or recoat the affected area, at our option.
-
Repairs and corrections are made to the defective area only, unless Brilliant Epoxy Floors decides otherwise.
-
Every effort will be made to match colors, but a 100% match isn't guaranteed due to batch variations and natural aging of the original coating.
-
We won't re-install the entire floor because of differences in color, gloss, sheen, texture, or chip match.
Making a warranty claim
If you notice a problem, let us know quickly and in writing.
30 days
Submit claims in writing
All warranty claims must be submitted in writing within thirty (30) days of discovering the issue.
Limits of liability
The warranty does not include removal or replacement of concrete, loss of use, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Total liability under the warranty shall not exceed the original contract price of the coating system.
Before your install
Odors
Resinous coatings are odorous. We recommend turning off air handlers before installation. We hold no liability for these chemical odors.
Dust & surface prep
Concrete surface preparation can create residue dust. Please remove or cover any sensitive items in the area before we arrive.
