The Challenge

With over 1 million visitors each year, the Grand Canyon Skywalk required a high-performance traffic coating system capable of handling constant foot traffic while remaining safe and visually appealing. The project also had to be completed in phases to keep the Skywalk operational throughout installation. In addition, the system needed to withstand extreme desert conditions, including intense UV exposure, snow, freezing temperatures, and dramatic temperature swings.

The Solution

We installed our BC-5MvbEmFPP system including:
- Industrial diamond grinding to a csp 3
- Moisture Vapor Barrier base coat

Elastomeric membrane
- Acylic Flake broadcast
- Grout coat of 100% Solids Polyaspartic
-Top coat of 100% Solids Polyaspartic

The Result

Our BC-5MvbEmFPP traffic system delivered a seamless, waterproof, and slip-resistant surface engineered for long-term durability in demanding outdoor conditions. The completed system provides enhanced flexibility, UV stability, and abrasion resistance while maintaining a decorative finish designed to perform under heavy pedestrian traffic and extreme environmental exposure.

INSTALLATION PROCESS

Surface prep to final coat, executed by in-house crews
